These People are Publicly Declaring Their Affection

The year is almost over, and the Holiday season is in full swing, so what better time than now to look back and think about the people in our lives that have truly played a special role. In the spirit of giving a gift that expresses how you feel, we asked our Facebook and Instagram followers and our happy customers to share how they feel about one of their loved ones. Here are their stories.

Your selflessness helped get us through tragedy

Ashlee-Gann.JPG

Ashlee is my daughter-in-law and is the epitome of beauty inside and out. She is selfless in every way possible. Her father suffered from throat cancer and she tirelessly assisted in his care until his death. During that time she helped take care of her elderly grandmother as well. In the meantime, my sister died tragically and she also attended to all of my families needs. Between her side of the family and mine we’ve suffered many tragic deaths and she has been a solid rock throughout.

She also has been a pillar of our small community by writing grants for meth awareness and drunk driving all while raising my three beautiful grandchildren. Her mother and I are accident prone so in addition to all she does for her family, she takes great care of us when we break our arm or foot. Her heart is selfless and pure and I couldn’t love her more. The world needs more Ashlee Gann’s.

You showed up without me even having to ask

Dawnsavann-RobinLee.JPG

Unlike my past relationships, I am able to say that I love Robin and he genuinely makes me happy. I have never met anyone so supportive of me, [who always goes out of] his way to comfort me. He was always there for me. I never liked the idea of being anyone’s princess. I always hated it when my father called me his princess, but with Robin, he truly makes me feel like one…

[Back when] we had barely started dating, one day he was feeling a little upset from his day at work. I decided to do a surprise visit. I called off work, and drove almost an hour to go see him. Seeing me made his night and he treated me to dinner, but when I left, I got into an accident on the freeway. Two of my left tires popped and I was stuck. I did not know what to do. I was scared because my parents did not know I was out of town to see someone. I told them I was going to work (I have strict parents). I was more afraid of my father than the fact that my life was at risk. I called Robin, but only for comfort, and he came to me right away. I did not expect him to come. I only wanted to hear his voice… and that everything would be okay. I was shook that he actually drove to me just to help me out. He comforted me and made me laugh. What surprised me the most was that he actually got my car towed for me. I did not ask him to, he simply did it with no hesitation. He stayed with me for the whole process and drove me home safely. From then on, I knew he would do anything for me. He was selfless and kind. I will always remember this moment because it made us closer.

You broke my unlucky streak in love

matty&kelly.jpg

Matt and I met on Hinge [a dating app] back in January. At 27 years old, I was really starting to question if true love would ever happen for me. After we matched [on the app], we messaged back and forth for three days until he spontaneously called me and asked if I wanted to meet up. I had friends in town and was out with three other couples, but I invited him to join anyways. I honestly never expected him to agree to meet for the first time under those awkward circumstances, but to my surprise, he said yes. The second he walked into the bar and we locked eyes, I knew my life was about to change forever. We stayed out that night together until 3am and had our first official date less than a week later. Since then, the two of us have been pretty much inseparable! Matt and I both didn’t have the best luck with relationships in the past but everything with each other has been so easy and natural. He is hands down the greatest man I have ever known and the absolute love of my life. Who knew I would have a dating app to thank for introducing me to the man of my dreams?! We just moved in together and I am looking forward to seeing where this journey takes us….

Your strength during rehabilitation makes me proud

bobbie-margaret.jpeg

Well it’s hard to know where to start in expressing my feelings about my sister. She has always been a great aunt to my children and to my grandson, as well as a great sister.

Recently she has been through the fight of her life due to an abcess in her brain which left her paralyzed on her left side. The surgeon drained the abscess and started antibiotics and after a few days she started rehabilitation to try to get back everything that she lost. It was extremely hard to watch my sister in this position but I was up to supporting her in any way she needed. So that’s exactly what I did for the next seven weeks while she fought to learn to walk again. There were good days and bads days but watching her work so hard to fight to reclaim what was taken from her, I became extremely proud of her and did anything I could to try to walk along side of her during this journey.

It’s now been nine months and she is doing so much better. She was given the news that she still has another year to keep working to get more strength back. As she continues on her journey I continue to be with her and try to support her and so very proud of her and love her very much.
